Supporting doctoral training with other funders

To enable a sustainable innovation landscape in the UK it is important for us to work with our fellow research councils and other agencies to provide training that encourages interdisciplinary research.

We do this through doctoral training centres and developing opportunities with our partners that focus on key research priorities.

Joint BBSRC-NERC Soil Science Centre for Doctoral Training

This is a BBSRC-NERC joint centre, administered by NERC, led by Lancaster University.

Joint BBSRC-EPSRC Synthetic Biology Centre for Doctoral Training (SynBioCDT)

This is a BBSRC-EPSRC joint centre, administered by EPSRC, at Bristol, Oxford and Warwick. You can read more on the UK Government Web Archive.

Zoonoses and Emergent Livestock Systems (ZELS)

Joint research initiative with FCDO, ESRC, MRC, NERC and DSTL with associated studentships.

Joint BBSRC-ESRC Biosocial Research Centre for Doctoral Training (Soc-B)

This joint CDT (administered by ESRC) is led by UCL in collaboration with the universities of Manchester and Essex.
