About the UK Geoenergy Observatories

The £31 million UK Geoenergy Observatories (UKGEOS), located at Glasgow and Chester, provide facilities uniquely capable of the experimental investigation of heat and fluid flow in the subsurface, to support the net zero agenda on heating and cooling, and energy storage. Focusing on mine water thermal and aquifer thermal energy storage, the sites will be supported by an exceptional resource of cores and core scanning equipment.

The event

This event will provide an opportunity to learn about the UKGEOS facilities via a presentation and question and answer session. There will also be an opportunity for participants to network and meet members of the UKGEOS project delivery team over lunch.

You may be interested in attending this event if you are developing research on the use of low-grade geothermal energy in natural aquifers and former coal mine workings. University business development staff who support research, and academics from other disciplines, are encouraged to attend.
