The UK’s civil aerospace industry employs over 230,000 people.
The government is supporting this industry and others by funding new research and development programmes. These will develop the next generation of affordable light-weight composite materials for aerospace, automotive and other advanced manufacturing sectors.
What’s the investment?
The government will invest in industry and researchers to develop next-generation composite materials that are more affordable and lighter weight. Funding totalling £26 million has been announced so far.
