New resource provides single overview of UKRI competitive funding decisions
A dataset published by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) today, 23 January 2020, provides a single overview of all competitive funding decisions made by UKRI’s nine councils for the first time.
Previously data was published individually by UKRI’s constituent councils, but this breakdown brings together data from across the nine councils and provides a single source which is consistent, accurate and easily accessible.
It contains data on competitive funding awards where decisions were made between April 1 2018 and March 30 2019, and will be updated annually to reflect data for future years.
The dashboard can be used to search using a variety of different terms, with users able to filter by measure, grant category and UKRI council.
Features include a map which allows users to search for results geographically, a scatter graph illustrating the number of applications for each research organisation, and box plots showing selected measures by councils and research organisation.
The dataset replaces previous methodologies used on individual council publications, and council award rate data publication sites will no longer be updated.
The publication is separate to the Regional Distribution of Funding for Research in Universities and Businesses, published by UKRI on Friday, 24 January.
