UK Research and Innovation has appointed Sue Donaldson as Chief People Officer
UK Research and Innovation has appointed Sue Donaldson as Chief People Officer.
Sue brings more than 15 years’ senior management experience to the role, from both the public and third sectors, most recently as Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development at the Royal British Legion.
At the Legion, she is responsible for leading the HR function, across an organisation with 1,600 staff. She also has responsibility for a broader corporate portfolio, including the governance, legal and regulatory functions; safeguarding; volunteering; and most recently membership.
As UK Research and Innovation Chief People Officer, Sue will play a key role in driving transformation and will provide direct leadership for the UKRI Corporate Services HR Function.
Sue, who will take up the role on 9 March 2020, said:
"I am delighted to be joining UKRI and look forward to working with colleagues on the exciting transformation programme, particularly leading and championing the HR and people agenda."
Prior to her role at the Royal British Legion, Sue was Executive Director of Workforce and Organisational Development at a number of NHS Foundation Trusts including University Hospitals Bristol and Oxford University Hospitals. She also held senior roles within the Royal Mail Group.
