Transformation Director Geoff Robins to stand down
UK Research and Innovation Transformation Director Geoff Robins has announced he will leave the role at the end of March for personal reasons.
Dr Robins, who joined the organisation in May 2019 to oversee UKRI's ongoing transformation programme, said he was leaving with “great regret” due to a change in family circumstances.
UK Research and Innovation chief executive Professor Sir Mark Walport said: "The impact of Geoff's experience and leadership on our transformation programme was immediate.
“He has given our transformation programme clear direction, built momentum and provided executive leadership of our digital and data team, grant handling and project management office.
"This work will remain a positive influence on the organisation as it moves forward."
Dr Robins said: “It is with great regret that I have decided to leave UKRI but due to a change in my family situation. I am afraid it is unavoidable. “
He added: "I believe passionately in the mission of UKRI and its place in driving the future economy and prosperity of the UK and I am very sad to be leaving.
“It has been a privilege to work with so many talented and committed people and I am confident the foundations are now in place for UKRI to succeed and I wish everyone the very best in the future.”
Dr Robins will remain in post until the end of March to facilitate a smooth handover of his responsibilities.
