UKRI is seeking two Non-Executive Directors
UKRI is now seeking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors to bring complementary expertise and insight to our Board. We are looking for exceptional candidates who can bring intellect, challenge and creative insight.
As a major funding organisation that plays a critical role in stimulating enterprise growth and new ventures, we are particularly interested in leaders with diverse and highly successful backgrounds in entrepreneurship and venture capital or in scientific, technology or R&D intensive business.
The Board works with the UKRI Chair, Chief Executive and the executive team to lead the strategic direction of the organisation. This includes advising the Secretary of State on the allocation of research and innovation budgets, including the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund.
Through leading the overall strategic direction of research and innovation funding in the UK, UKRI is pushing the frontiers of human knowledge and delivering benefits for UK society and the economy, through world-class research and business-led innovation. A key task for the Board is to ensure the strengths of the Research Councils, Innovate UK and Research England are preserved and built upon, and maximise the value and benefits from the government's investment of over £7 billion per year in research and innovation.
