UKRI response to UCU letter regarding Researchfish deadlines and statement
Submission of outcomes from research council funding to Researchfish is an important part of researchers' jobs and crucial for the research councils to track research impact and make the case for continued public funding of research and innovation.
The 2018 deadline (15 March) for research council grant holders has been known and publicised for some time and researchers have been free to submit their outputs at any time during the submission period. We have not amended the 15 March deadline. As of midnight on deadline day Researchfish had recorded 85.8% completion of submissions for research councils grants. We are aware of a large number of submissions being made today. As in previous years, we will be offering researchers who have not completed their submission one last opportunity to submit post-deadline, and consider sympathetically any extenuating circumstances before applying sanctions.
Completion of Researchfish returns is part of the business as usual activity for our grant holders and one of a number of reporting requirements they are expected to complete.
