Strategic Lead for Public Policy Research and Place-based Strategy
Charlotte Lester is Head of Public Policy Research and Place-based Strategy. She leads the development and delivery of the Economic and Social Research Council’s (ESRC) engagement and impact strategy for policy and practice in the devolved nations, at a local level and within the third sector. She is responsible for the development of strategic place-based investments and ESRC’s evidence synthesis strategy.
Prior to this role, Charlotte led research and innovation policy evidence and engagement work at the Royal Society of Chemistry, headed up the Research Environment Team at Research England and managed the National Student Survey at the Higher Education Funding Council for England.
