Jeremy Neathey

Director of Strategy and Partnerships

Jeremy’s portfolio includes responsibility for the implementation of the Economic and Social Research Council’s (ESRC) strategy and Delivery Plan and international partnerships. He also oversees ESRC’s leadership in impact and innovation as well as our sector engagement strategies including public policy, business, third sector and the public.

After completing a degree in Human Geography at the University of Reading, Jeremy joined the ESRC in 1990. Throughout his time at ESRC he has worked on research methods and the development of major data infrastructure projects including the Understanding Society longitudinal survey and Birth Cohort studies. He was also Secretary to both the Research Resources Board and Training and Development Board, where he led on the introduction of the ESRC Doctoral Training Centre network. Jeremy assumed his current Director role in 2020.
