Professor Fiona Macpherson is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Glasgow, where she is also Director of the Centre for the Study of Perceptual Experience. Her work concerns the nature of consciousness, perception and perceptual experience, introspection, imagination, and the metaphysics of mind.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and a Trustee of the Kennedy Memorial Trust. Previously she was President of the Scots Philosophical Association, a member of the Mind Association Executive Committee, and member of the Steering Committee of the European Society for Analytic Philosophy.
Fiona gained her PhD from the University of Stirling. She has been a Fellow at Harvard University, the University of St Andrews, Girton College, Cambridge, and the Australian National University. She has been a visiting Professor at Umea University, the University of London, the University of Trnava, and University of Kentucky.
