We are creating a unified UKRI website that brings together the existing research council, Innovate UK and Research England websites.

International Development

The UK is committed to spending 0.7% of Gross National Income on official development assistance (ODA). Part of this is administered through UKRI, which supports research that addresses the challenges faced by developing countries, and develops science and innovation partnerships that promote the economic development and welfare of collaborating countries.

UKRI ODA funds are administered primarily through the Newton Fund and the Global Challenges Research Fund.

UKRI is committed to transparency in ODA spending, and in line with government guidelines will be publishing information about our ODA spend using the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) data format and via the IATI registry. The information that UKRI publishes will be assessed and scored by Publish What You Fund using their Aid Transparency Index which is the only independent measure of aid transparency amongst the world’s development agencies (technical details/definitions about the index can be found here).

This page is a repository for XML files containing UKRI’s ODA portfolio, in line with the IATI Standard:
