UKRI international offices
UK Research and Innovation has established strong links with China, India, North America and Europe, which have been facilitated by our long term presence in these areas. Having international offices in Beijing, New Delhi and Washington DC for the last 10 years has transformed the UK’s relationship with three of the world’s largest and most dynamic hubs for research and innovation. In addition, the long established UK Research Office in Brussels provides a valuable mechanism in facilitating and deepening UK research and innovation partnerships with our European partners.
Maintaining dedicated offices in strategic markets has helped forge strong international partnerships, develop multidisciplinary projects in pioneering fields, and secure Britain’s global standing as a research and innovation powerhouse.
Research and innovation are key drivers for global prosperity and sustainability. As new challenges emerge, ever-greater numbers of researchers and innovators will need to cross borders, pool resources and focus their creative energies on shared goals.
These dedicated international offices provide essential expertise and support for the UK Research and Innovation international strategy. Our teams also work closely with the Science and Innovation Network, the Department for International Trade, the British Council and other partners across government to align activities and present a comprehensive picture of UK resources and expertise.
