ESRC Strategic Lead for Global Resilience
Christina Rowley is Head of Global Resilience research at the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
The Global Resilience team’s key aim is to support the UK research base to address major challenges around foreign policy, geopolitics, international security, conflict and other transnational issues.
After completing her PhD at Bristol in 2011, Christina joined ESRC in 2013 as a senior manager responsible for knowledge exchange and engagement with charitable organisations. She has held a variety of roles in ESRC, including Head of International Strategy, Head of International Development Research and Head of Skills and Methods.
Christina’s research background is at the intersection of international relations and cultural studies, and she has published on (among other topics) the politics of science fiction, identity and US foreign policy; war, gender and popular culture; and the multifaceted relationships between popular culture and world politics.
