Details

Living with Machines brings together historians, data scientists, computational linguists, geographers and archivists to better understand the social and cultural impact of the mechanisation of work during the nineteenth century (commonly called the Industrial Revolution).

This booklet showcases one novel part of the project: the development of new methods in data science and artificial intelligence (AI) to mine data from Ordnance Survey maps and unlock historical insights.
