Funding opportunities

Engage the public with science, technology or facilities: Spark Awards 2023 round one

Apply for funds to engage the public with STFC science, technology or facilities.

We’d particularly like to fund projects that engage:

  • eight to 14-year-olds, and their families, in socioeconomically deprived areas
  • groups considered to have low science capital

The project cost can be up to £15,000 (non-full economic cost).

Projects can be up to 36 months.

Boulby infrastructure development project advisory scheme

Apply for funding to support the development of a UK underground research and innovation science laboratory.

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for STFC funding.

The full economic cost of your project can be up to £150,000 per year for a period of 1 or 2 years. STFC will fund 80% of the full economic cost.
