In August 2021, UKRI announced a new open access policy for publications that acknowledge funding from UKRI or any of its councils.

This report is an independent economic analysis from Alma Economics. It assesses the economic implications and benefits of an updated open access policy.

UKRI commissioned the report in collaboration with BEIS.
