Whistleblowing policy

Our whistleblowing policy gives individuals the chance to speak out if they experience or suspect any bad behaviour or bad practice at work. If anyone raises a genuine concern, they will not risk losing their job or suffering any retribution as a result.

Who is protected

As well as all UKRI employees, the policy also protects workers who are:

  • on secondment
  • pursuing a doctoral degree
  • on a temporary contract
  • employed through an agency
  • independent consultants
  • contractors
  • suppliers of services to UKRI

Members of the public can also raise an issue through this policy.
