All UK higher education institutions (HEIs) are eligible to receive funds for research, postgraduate training and associated activities.
As with all UKRI councils, AHRC funds an array of independent research organisations (IROs). This work has produced some outstanding research.
IROs may be eligible to receive funding if they:
- have an existing in-house capacity to carry out research
- can demonstrate an independent capability to undertake and lead research programmes.
