Applicants can apply for workshop funding from EPSRC through the standard research process and must adhere to the general EPSRC guidelines for this type of funding.
In the case for support for a workshop or symposium in mathematical sciences, EPSRC expects a discussion of the following points:
- how does the proposed activity contribute to either the solution of a specific problem or the identification of future research directions in a timely manner?
- how does the proposed activity complement or feed into other activities in the proposed area on a national and international scale?
- how does the proposed activity complement or feed into current activities of the core national infrastructure in mathematical sciences, such as the Isaac Newton Institute and the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences?
- how does the proposed activity work towards widening participation, especially with regard to gender balance, geographical inclusivity and the support of the next generation of researchers? Find out more about equality, diversity and inclusion
- where appropriate, how does the proposed activity reach out to interested parties in other research fields or outside of academia?
