Joe Woodgate is a postdoctoral researcher at Queen Mary, University of London. Every summer, he spends his days on the farm at Rothamsted Research in Hertfordshire researching how bees navigate their world.

He’s particularly interested in how they learn and process information about their environment as they fly around, and how this helps them navigate towards food and back to their nests.

Having a better understanding of how bees learn about their environment could help farmers who need their pollination abilities to grow our food, and also make conservation measures more effective.
