UK-Canada Globalink Doctoral Exchange Scheme – round three now open

Canadian flag

A new opportunity for UK and Canadian doctoral students to participate in a UK-Canada research exchange scheme is open for the third call for applications, until 8 December 2020.

Outline

This scheme is open to doctoral students funded by the research councils of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) including arts and humanities students funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

Students can see a list of Canadian professors who have registered an interest in hearing form UKRI students. This page will be updated with new details as they are received. Students are also encouraged to make contact with other Canadian professors who they are interested in working with.

Scope and timings

The scheme will support travel, living and research costs for the students in their chosen field of study. Following a competitive application process, placements will take place between 1 April 2021 and 31 March 2022 and students must be able to start their placement before the end of their funded period of study.

How to apply

UKRI is fully aware that in the current climate a call for international exchange of students is logistically challenging. However, in the meantime it is important to maintain the aspiration of the programme and therefore we continue to encourage students to consider this call, and the opportunity within the full bounds of the call timeline.

Please visit the UKRI funding finder for more information, including how to apply.
