UKRI has restored services provided by its portal for the UK Research Office (UKRO) based in Brussels.
The UKRO portal provides an information service to subscribers and was impacted by a cyberattack at the end of January.
UKRI takes incidents of this nature extremely seriously and has investigated this incident thoroughly. This included an expert third-party forensic investigation and last week we announced that there was no evidence of any data theft from our systems.
Access to the UKRO portal has now been restored. Users will be prompted to reset passwords upon logging on for the first time after service restoration.
We apologise again to all those who will have been concerned about any potential impact on their own data privacy.
We continue to work to securely re-instate outstanding impacted services and will update again in due course.
