Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Engagement Fellowships Pilot: Oct 2020

The criteria of this fellowship are:

  • it is impact-focused
  • it recognises the potential cross-cultural value of internationally collaboration
  • aimed at researchers whose engagement with stakeholder communities is vital to their research
  • aims to strengthen connections between disciplines, communities and institutions

AHRC infrastructure policy and engagement fellowships

Apply for funding to undertake research and engagement in either:

  • the creative industries
  • heritage science and conservation research.

You must hold a PhD or have equivalent professional expertise. You must also have at least seven years’ experience in the relevant field.

Projects can last up to five months, taking place between March and July 2021.

Future Leaders Fellowships: Round 6

The Future Leaders Fellowships is a £900 million fund for early career researchers and innovators. It supports research and innovation by outstanding individuals and helps them to establish themselves in universities, UK-registered businesses and other research and innovation environments.

Coordinate a programme of health inequalities research

Apply to coordinate the ‘Mobilising Cultural and Natural Assets to Combat Health Inequalities’ programme.

You must be:

  • a UK resident
  • hosted by a research organisation eligible for AHRC funding.

ESRC policy fellowships 2021

Apply to spend up to 18 months collaborating with a UK or devolved government host organisation.

You will:

  • co-design research with the host organisation to inform policy on a priority policy area
  • help improve the exchange of knowledge between policy and academic institutions.

Depending on the fellowship, you can be either a researcher in the economic and social sciences or in the arts and humanities.

You must:

  • be based at an organisation eligible for UKRI funding
  • have a PhD or equivalent experience.

Engage the public with the BBC’s past and future

Apply for funding to develop ways to engage the public in the context of the BBC’s centenary.

You can be a researcher from any area of AHRC’s remit.

We’ll fund two fellows. You must focus on one of these:

  • the history of the BBC
  • the future of broadcast media.

Policy and engagement fellowships in digital research infrastructure

Apply for funding to develop a digital research infrastructure.

To apply, you must be resident in the UK and based at a UK institution eligible for UKRI funding. You must be either a researcher or research-active professional.

Future of language research fellowships

Apply for funding for a research fellowship. Your work will help AHRC decide which areas of language research to support.

You must:

  • hold a PhD (or have equivalent professional experience) in languages, linguistics or a related field
  • be engaged in postdoctoral research at an eligible research organisation.

Develop your arts and humanities research practice as a librarian

Apply for funding to develop your professional practice as an academic or research librarian.

You must work within an academic or research library in either a:

  • UK research organisation eligible for UKRI funding
  • RLUK member organisation.

Inform policies for culture, heritage and the creative industries

Apply for funding to spend up to 13.5 months working with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

You must:

  • be based at an organisation eligible for UKRI funding
  • have a PhD or equivalent experience
  • meet AHRC’s early career researcher status
  • have expertise in one of the fellowship areas.
