Mental health platform hubs

Apply for funding for an interdisciplinary mental health hub (consortium) that addresses key mental health challenges.

The hubs will be funded for up to five years at 80% of the full economic cost. Awards will have a fixed start date of 1 April 2024.

Pre-announcement: collaborative community research to tackle health inequalities

Apply for funding to create and test collaborative models for the integration of cultural, community and natural environment assets into health and care systems. The aim is to create healthier communities and environments across the UK.

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for UKRI funding.

Pre-announcement: strategic Longer and Larger (sLoLa) grants: frontier bioscience 2023 to 2024

Apply for funding to undertake large team-based fundamental bioscience research projects which push the frontiers of human knowledge

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for BBSRC funding.

Expression of interest: Human Functional Genomics Initiative clusters

Apply for funding to lead a cluster as part of a coordinated Human Functional Genomics Initiative.

You must:

  • be based at an organisation eligible for MRC funding
  • meet individual eligibility requirements

The total fund is up to £16 million and funding will last for 4 years. We anticipate funding four to five clusters.

BBSRC Discovery Fellowships 2023

Apply for funding to carry out independent research within a host laboratory and gain leadership skills.

You must be able to demonstrate appropriate and relevant research, technical or innovation experience.

You are not eligible to apply if you hold or have held any post or position at lecturer level (or equivalent in an institution other than a university).

The fellowship must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for BBSRC funding.

UKRI policy fellowships 2023

Apply for funding to collaborate with a UK or devolved government host or What Works Network centre on research activity to address pressing national and global challenges.

You must:

  • be based at an organisation eligible for UKRI funding
  • have a PhD or equivalent experience

Opportunity: arts and humanities-led research commercialisation

Opportunity for existing research projects to create commercial impacts through applied arts and humanities methodologies, as part of AHRC’s commitment to increasing support for research commercialisation. Interdisciplinary approaches welcomed.

Open to projects funded by any part of UK Research and Innovation in the last 24 months, so long as the new follow-on work falls clearly within AHRC’s remit.

Apply for funding to support ambitious research and innovation across UKRI’s remit.

You must be an early career researcher or innovator who is either:

  • looking to establish or transition to independence
  • developing their own original and ambitious plans within a commercial setting
