EPSRC fellowships: early and established career

This scheme aims to support and develop early and established career researchers to develop world-leading research that will meet UK and global priorities. You can get funding for up to five years. Your project can focus on any topic in the EPSRC portfolio.

EPSRC fellowships: postdoctoral

Daphne Jackson fellowship

These fellowships are for those looking to return to a research career after a break. Fellowships combine a personalised retraining programme with a challenging research project. They are flexible, usually lasting two years at 0.5 full-time equivalent, although some UKRI funders may award longer.

STFC: European Southern Observatory fellowship

The European Southern Observatory fellowship programme is designed to help young scientists reach the next stage of their scientific career. You can apply for a postdoctoral fellowship in either Garching (Germany) or Santiago (Chile). You will receive a basic salary funded by ESO.

Turing Artificial Intelligence World-Leading Researcher Fellowships

This is invitation only.

Successful outline applicants are invited to submit their full proposals.

This will invest in the retention and international recruitment of a small number of world-leading AI researchers. This will enable the building of centres of excellence in key areas of AI research.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Engagement Fellowships Pilot: Oct 2020

The criteria of this fellowship are:

  • it is impact-focused
  • it recognises the potential cross-cultural value of internationally collaboration
  • aimed at researchers whose engagement with stakeholder communities is vital to their research
  • aims to strengthen connections between disciplines, communities and institutions

AHRC research, development and engagement fellowships: early career researchers route

The research, development and engagement fellowship scheme (ECR route) supports early-career arts and humanities researchers to undertake ambitious, innovative research and enhance their skill set. Between £50,000 and £250,000 is available for projects lasting six months to two years.

AHRC research, development and engagement fellowships: standard route to support mid-career and established researchers

AHRC’s research, development and engagement fellowship scheme (standard route) supports mid-career and established arts and humanities researchers to undertake ambitious, innovative research and enhance their skill set. Between £50,000 and £300,000 is available for projects lasting six to eighteen months.
