Funding opportunity: Elements of prevention of modern slavery

Apply for funding to generate new evidence on how policies and practice can improve the prevention of modern slavery with regards to:

  • homelessness
  • poverty and cost of living
  • cultural competency
  • prevention and identification of child trafficking

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funding or a charity registered in the UK.

The full economic cost of your project can be up to £100,000. The Modern Slavery PEC will fund at standard UKRI rates.

Projects may run from June 2023 and must finish in either November or December 2023.

Within the funding opportunity, specific projects have requirements regarding partnerships.

Your host organisation will also be able to provide advice and guidance.

Deadline

The Modern Slavery PEC must receive your application by 6 April 2023 at 4:00pm UK time.

You will not be able to apply after this time. Please leave enough time for your application to pass through your organisation’s approval processes before this date.

You should ensure you are aware of and follow any internal institutional deadlines that may be in place.

Webinars

The Modern Slavery PEC will hold two webinars to discuss this funding opportunity. We will cover the aims and objective of each project, and you will get a chance to ask the Modern Slavery PEC team any questions.

The first webinar will be held on 13 March 2023 at 2:00pm UK time. We will cover the objectives of the cultural competency and prevention and identification of child trafficking funding portion of the funding opportunity.
