This funding opportunity is to fund proposals to support the goal of the decarbonisation of heating and cooling. Proposals must be at least 50% within the remit of EPSRC or at least 50% within the remit of NERC.
We invite outline proposals from interdisciplinary academic-led teams to research social, behavioural and design aspects of healthy ageing.
Successful projects will:
- receive a grant of up to £2 million
- research ways to help people enjoy at least five extra healthy, independent, years of life by 2035.

Funding for evidence-based research to improve the understanding of the effects of the pandemic on society, that are associated with modern slavery.
This includes both:
- responses by governments, businesses and organisations that affect exploitation
- the systems underpinning exploitative practices.
The Wave Energy Roadmap commissioned through the Supergen Offshore Renewable Energy Hub concludes that targeted research and innovation will play an important role in the Wave Energy journey to commercialisation. As a result, EPSRC is looking to fund proposals, particularly in the key areas highlighted by the roadmap:
- novel designs for niche applications
- survivability and reliability of devices in the marine environment
- power take off and control systems
- modelling, forecasting and evaluation of wave energy resource
- new materials for Wave Energy Converters.
The criteria of this fellowship are:
- it is impact-focused
- it recognises the potential cross-cultural value of internationally collaboration
- aimed at researchers whose engagement with stakeholder communities is vital to their research
- aims to strengthen connections between disciplines, communities and institutions
Funding for collaborative research to improve support for victims/survivors of slavery, and aid their recovery.
Projects should:
- involve those on the frontline
- put needs of victims/survivors first
- influence future policy
- fill gaps in evidence base to help identify people affected
- prevent re-trafficking.
