Mathematical sciences open and open plus fellowship

These are personal, career development focused awards for the mathematical sciences.

You must have either:

  • a PhD and some years of additional research experience
  • more than four years’ experience in a relevant field by the start of your fellowship

We have postdoctoral fellowships for earlier career researchers.

Future Leaders Fellowships: round 10

Apply for funding to support ambitious research and innovation across UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)’s remit. You must be an early career researcher or innovator who is either:

  • looking to establish or transition to independence
  • developing your own original and ambitious plans within a commercial setting

LUCIA-Local Government Association (LGA) ECR fellowship programme

Apply for funding to connect researchers and local, regional and national government representatives, and conduct research into equitable, cross-sector partnership building, as a LUCIA-LGA early career fellow.

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for AHRC funding.

NERC Independent Research Fellowship 2024

Apply for funding to further your career through an independent research fellowship.

You must:

  • be an early career researcher
  • hold a PhD qualification or expect to submit your thesis before the fellowship interview
  • be based at a UK research organisation eligible for NERC funding

International Fellowships for PhD and Early Career Researchers 2025

Apply to undertake a funded fellowship at an international cultural institution.

You must be either:

  • a PhD student currently funded by AHRC (or ESRC for Library of Congress only)
  • an early career researcher based at a UK research organisation eligible for AHRC funding

ESRC postdoctoral fellowships

Apply for a postdoctoral fellowship to develop your career by consolidating your PhD through developing publications, your networks and your research and professional skills.

Fellowships must be held at a research organisation that is part of a Doctoral Training Partnership.

UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships Renewal Meeting 11 (Invite only)

Future Leaders Fellowships (FLF) grant holders have the opportunity to extend their four-year fellowship by up to a further three years. The renewal funding will continue to support the development of a fellow and further the fellow’s work to undertake adventurous, ambitious programmes that tackle difficult and novel challenges.

CENTRE-UB Early Career Research Fellowships (invite only)

You can only apply for this funding opportunity if you have applied to the CENTRE-UB Early Career Researcher Fellowships Programme 2024 and been nominated as a successful candidate.

Your application will not be re-assessed as part of this process, but ESRC will undertake final checks before confirming your application is successful.

Senior non-clinical fellowship

Apply for support to become an internationally recognised research leader.

Your research can focus on any area of MRC remit to improve human health.

You must:

  • have a PhD or equivalent
  • have experience leading research funded by a major funder
