Apply for funding to investigate the causes, progression and treatment of human disease. Your proposal must include an experimental intervention or challenge in humans.
You must be based at an eligible research organisation. Any researcher employed by an eligible research organisation, including MRC institutes and units (including those in Gambia and Uganda), can apply for this funding opportunity.
You can apply if you hold a fellowship or lectureship.
This is an ongoing scheme. Application rounds open every six months, closing in April and October.
These fellowships are for those looking to return to a research career after a break. Fellowships combine a personalised retraining programme with a challenging research project. They are flexible, usually lasting two years at 0.5 full-time equivalent, although some UKRI funders may award longer.
