Engage the public with impacts of digital economy research 2021

Apply for funding to support a public engagement activity. Your activity must tell the story of the impact of a digital economy research project.

You can be from any sector or career stage, as long as the research involved was funded by our Digital Economy theme grants.

EoI: Farming Innovation Programme: research starter pilot

Farming, growing or forestry businesses based in England can apply for a share of up to £1 million for feasibility projects. This is an expression of interest competition.

Farming Innovation Programme: feasibility projects

UK registered businesses can apply for a share of £5.5 million for feasibility projects, from the industry-led research and development (R&D) Partnerships Fund, a part of the Farming Innovation Programme.

Farming Innovation Programme: small R&D partnership projects

UK registered businesses can apply for a share of £11 million for small research and development (R&D) Partnership Projects, from the industry-led R&D Partnerships Fund, a part of the Farming Innovation Programme.

Enhance living and post-mortem human nervous tissue resources

Apply for funding to establish a national human nervous tissue sample resource.

This will be a pilot to enable researchers to access living and post-mortem nervous tissue.

The resource should support neuroscience and mental health research.

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for MRC funding.

Ecological consequences of offshore wind

Apply for funding to research UK marine ecosystems. You will investigate:

  • how ecosystems respond to offshore wind-power infrastructure
  • better approaches to marine environmental restoration.

You must be:

  • from an eligible UK research organisation
  • eligible for NERC funding.

Inform policies for culture, heritage and the creative industries

Apply for funding to spend up to 13.5 months working with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

You must:

  • be based at an organisation eligible for UKRI funding
  • have a PhD or equivalent experience
  • meet AHRC’s early career researcher status
  • have expertise in one of the fellowship areas.

Lead public engagement with science, technology and engineering

Apply for a fellowship to engage the public with STFC-supported science, technology or engineering.

You must be:

  • from the academic, engineering or technical community
  • working within STFC’s remit
  • based at an eligible UK research organisation.

Clinical research training fellowship: Jan 2022

Apply for funding to undertake a PhD or to reacquire research skills. Your research can focus on any area of MRC’s remit to improve human health.

You must be a registered healthcare professional, either:

  • planning to undertake a PhD or similar
  • a PhD graduate working outside of research for at least five years.

Clinician scientist fellowship: Jan 2022

Apply for funding to support your move to independent investigator. Your research can focus on any area of MRC’s remit to improve human health.

You must be a registered healthcare professional with a PhD.

You must be able to show:

  • evidence of career progression
  • clear plans to develop leadership in your own specialist area of research.
