Advancing innovation in drug and alcohol addiction healthcare

Organisations can apply for a share of £20 million across two competitions. Projects will advance development of pharmaceutical, digital and medtech tools to improve treatment recovery and prevention of harm and deaths from drug and alcohol addictions.

Metascience research grants: round two

Apply for a BBSRC fellowship to further your career through an independent research project.

You must:

  • be an early career researcher
  • hold a PhD qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • be based at a UK research organisation eligible for BBSRC funding

Full ADOPT grant: round six

Farming, growing or forestry businesses based in England can apply for a share of up to £5 million for on-farm trial and demonstration projects, to improve adoption of new ideas or solutions in the agricultural sector.

This is an Accelerating Development of Practices and Technologies (ADOPT) grant.

Early career fellowships in cultural and heritage institutions: 2025 (invite only)

Apply for funding to conduct research at participating cultural and heritage institutions. You must:

  • be an early career researcher
  • hold a doctorate in a relevant subject or have equivalent professional experience

Only applicants successful at the expression of interest stage may apply.

Future Leaders Fellowships: round 11

Funding to support ambitious research and innovation across UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)’s remit. You must be a researcher or innovator who is looking to establish or transition to independence.

UKRI Translation: AHRC Proof of Concept supports arts and humanities activity that translate previously funded AHRC or UKRI projects into real world economic, societal, cultural or policy impact.

This opportunity was previously known as AHRC responsive mode: follow-on funding for impact and engagement.

Early independence: career development fellowship

Apply for an early independence fellowship if your research focus is within Medical Research Council (MRC) remit.

You must:

  • have a PhD or equivalent
  • show evidence of career consolidation and productivity
  • show clear plans for establishing your own research niche that enables a step-change towards independence
