NERC Council member
Gordon McGregor is a member of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Council.
Gordon is Chief Sustainability Officer at Sweco UK. Prior to this, he led a number of startup companies in sensor hardware design, clean energy technology and software systems.
He has broad experience working in the energy sector, including serving as Innovation Director in a major European utility company where he led the company’s efforts on:
- environmental management
- regulation
- research and development
He is presently serving as a member of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee on Fuel Poverty.
Gordon has a BEng in electronic engineering from the University of Glasgow, an MBA from Heriot-Watt University and an LLM in environmental law from the University of Aberdeen. He is passionate about the environment and is also currently serving as Chair of the World Wildlife Fund advisory board in Scotland.
