Jackline Wahba is a Professor of Economics at the University of Southampton.
She is an economist with substantial experience in international migration and labour markets. She leads the migration research within the Economic and Social Research Council Centre for Population Change at the University of Southampton.
She was a member of the UK Migration Advisory Committee (2012 to 2021). She is a research fellow of Economic Research Forum, the Institute of Labour Economics and the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration.
She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Economic Research Forum, the Expert Advisory Board of the Migration Observatory and the Scientific Council of the Center for Mediterranean Integration.
She is an elected member of the Council of the Royal Economic Society (2020 to 2025). In 2020, she was awarded an OBE for services to Economic Policy.
