AHRC Council member
Professor Dame Janet Beer is a member of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Council.
Janet is Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool, having formerly been Vice-Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University. She was awarded a Damehood for services to higher education and equality and diversity in the New Year’s Honours list 2018.
She is President of Universities UK, Trustee of the British Council and a member of the REF Equality and Diversity Advisory Panel.
She chairs the Liverpool Knowledge Quarter Board and is a member of the Liverpool Science Park Board. She is also a member of the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership Board as well as adviser to the Metro Mayor on higher education for the Liverpool City Region.
