John Patterson

John Patterson is a member of the Innovate UK Council.

John is Chair of 2iC Limited, a software small and medium-sized enterprise specialising in digital interoperability, and advises a range of innovative tech companies supporting the UK national security and wider public sector.  He’s also an advisor to the UK Innovation and Science Seed Fund and is on the board of the charity Stop the Traffik.

John’s first career was in the British Army where he was a tank commander, worked on strategy, risk and capability development in the UK Ministry of Defence, and ran a series of tech portfolios.

In his final appointment he was a main board member at Joint Forces Command and the executive director responsible for a £3.5 billion each year portfolio covering everything from satellites to underwater systems.

John has an MBA from the Open University and is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
