EPSRC Chief Operating Officer
Dr Nicola Goldberg is the Chief Operating Officer at the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
Nicola is responsible for overseeing EPSRC’s corporate functions including:
- workforce planning
- change management
- governance
- risk management
- performance evaluation
- business improvement
As a member of EPSRC’s Executive team she leads and supports strategic planning and decision making and manages key relationships with colleagues and services across UK Research and Innovation.
Nicola joined EPSRC following a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Reading and a postdoctoral position at the University of Cincinnati. During her time at EPSRC she has held a variety of roles including:
- Senior Healthcare Technologies Manager
- Senior Portfolio Manager for Balancing Capability
- Head of the Governance and Planning team
- Deputy Director for Planning, Operations and Governance
