Tasha Calvert

ESRC Head of Evaluation Team

Tasha Calvert is Head of Evaluation Team at the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

Tasha leads the Evaluation Team, which has responsibility for the evaluation portfolio at ESRC and provides specialist evaluation expertise to internal and external stakeholders. The team leads evaluations of key strategic ESRC investments, and works to embed evaluation and evaluative thinking into the design and delivery of research programmes. Tasha is a champion for quality evaluation and the collation of robust evidence around impact. She also works with other team heads across ESRC and other evaluation leads across UK Research and Innovation to ensure that evaluation findings are useful and usable, and inform future planning and continuous improvement.

Tasha has worked in evaluation and research roles across the public and third sector for more than 15 years. She joined the ESRC in January 2022 from Citizens Advice National Office, where she led the Impact and Evaluation team that was responsible for leading programme evaluations and generating evidence to understand the impact of service. Prior to this, Tasha worked in the Department for Education for 10 years and before that at research consultancy organisations.
