Professor Tracy Bhamra

AHRC Council Member

Professor Tracy Bhamra is a member of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Council.

Tracy is the Provost and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global) at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Tracy is responsible for leading the academic faculties, global partnerships and civic engagement agenda across the university. This has included being a civic-lead responsible for working closely on the Civic Agreement for Surrey. The agreement unites Surrey County Council and local universities in a shared commitment to deliver more for residents, communities and businesses.

Prior to joining Royal Holloway, Tracy held senior leadership positions at Loughborough University and academic posts at Cranfield University and The University of Manchester.

Tracy is a Professor of Design for Sustainability and has worked closely with industry partners across a range of industry sectors, including electronics, textiles and construction. She has supervised over 25 PhDs and has acted as an external examiner for MSc, MPhil, PhD and EngD theses in the UK and internationally.

She is a Chartered Engineer, and a Fellow of:

  • Institution of Engineering and Technology
  • the Royal Society of Art
  • the Design Research Society
