Details

The report and appendices are the product of AHRC commissioning CRAC/Vitae to undertake research and an engagement exercise with a wide range of stakeholders in the area of doctoral training in the arts and humanities.

The engagement exercise involved a literature search, surveys of organisations and students and roundtable table discussions with interested parties

The commission asked CRAC/Vitae to look at what the future of doctoral provision might look like and how AHRC might best target its future funding within the context of budget restraint. It provides reflections on current provision. It also provides recommendations for features of future funding and outlines at high level some possible options that AHRC could consider in making its decisions about future doctoral funding.
