This document summarises a selection of current and recent Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) investments that are relevant to identifying, addressing and resolving localised issues, including regional economic and social imbalances.
As part of the government’s place-based and innovation agendas, the UK is committed to levelling up across the country and implementing place-based approaches to net zero. ESRC funds a broad range of research that is relevant to this agenda and to local and regional challenges.
