This policy has been revised to reflect changes in open access research policies, data law, and to incorporate a wider definition of ‘research data’. In particular, the policy emphasises a requirement for all applicants to consider and outline data sharing activities when applying for MRC funding.
The policy was produced in consultation with various research organisations and we will continue to work with those organisations to ensure alignment with research data policies.
This policy should be read alongside MRC guidance on sharing research data about people.
