Women in Innovation Awards 2020/21

Innovate UK, as part of UK Research and Innovation, is offering 10 Women in Innovation Awards to female entrepreneurs across the UK. The winners will receive a £50,000 grant and a bespoke package of mentoring, coaching and business support.

2020 BBSRC-NSF/BIO lead agency opportunity

This scheme allows US and UK researchers to submit a single collaborative proposal that will undergo a single review process led by either BBSRC or NSF/BIO.

In 2020, the eligible areas are:

  • Quantum biology

Strategic capital 2020

We aim to invest in UK capital infrastructure that will deliver significant enhancements to research capacity in the environmental sciences.

If you are based at an eligible research organisation, you can procure equipment or develop built infrastructure that creates a new research capability.

GCRF Highlight Notice for International Development: Follow on Funding for Impact and Engagement Scheme 2020

The aim is to explore innovative ways to enhance engagement with, and impacts from, research funded by AHRC in one or more countries which receive Official Development Assistance or contribute to international development.

New Generation Thinkers: Oct 2020

This prestigious scheme allows 60 early career researchers to develop programmes for the BBC. If selected, you’ll workshop ideas with BBC producers, get media and public engagement training, and a platform for informing and influencing public opinion, policy and practice.

Changing the environment

This funding opportunity supports large-scale interdisciplinary research to provide solutions to major environmental challenges. Up to £20 million available to two eligible research organisations over five years.

Sort and segregate nuclear waste: phase 1
