Your research can focus on any area of MRC’s remit to improve human health.

You must be a registered healthcare professional, either:

  • planning to undertake a PhD or similar
  • a PhD graduate working outside of research, usually 5 or more years ago

Researching motor neurone disease: highlight notice

Apply for funding to research motor neurone disease (MND).

You can get funding through any:

  • grants from MRC research boards or panels
  • MRC fellowships

You should apply through the existing funding opportunity that is most relevant to your science area and career stage.

Transition support for MRC intermediate fellows

Apply for transition funding for up to two years. This includes half of your salary.

You can apply if you:

  • hold an MRC career development award or clinician scientist fellowship
  • are in the final 18 months of your fellowship
  • have the support of an eligible research organisation

Turing AI World-Leading Researcher Fellowships: round two

Apply for funding to undertake world-leading research to advance the field of artificial intelligence (AI) in the UK.

This opportunity is aimed at established researchers. International applicants are welcome. However, you must be based in the UK at an organisation eligible for UK Research and Innovation funding to hold the fellowship.
