Mental health platform hubs

Apply for funding for an interdisciplinary mental health hub (consortium) that addresses key mental health challenges.

The hubs will be funded for up to five years at 80% of the full economic cost. Awards will have a fixed start date of 1 April 2024.

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for UK Research and Innovation funding.

UK-Switzerland bilateral: collaborative research and development

UK registered organisations, in collaboration with at least one Swiss registered business can apply for a share of up to £2 million for research projects resulting in innovative solutions.

Swiss partners must apply for equivalent funding from Innosuisse.

Engineering Biology Missions Hubs and Mission Awards

Apply for funding for Engineering Biology Mission Hubs and Awards.

This funding will develop an integrated research and innovation programme to deliver UK research capacity and capability, drive technology development and uptake, and stimulate innovation to tackle major challenges through a mission focus.

This competition is part of the UK Research and Innovation’s led National Engineering Biology Programme (PDF, 103KB).

ADR England Research Community Catalysts

Apply for funding to become an ADR England Research Community Catalyst across one of the following three themes:

  • children at risk of poor outcomes
  • youth transitions
  • evaluation

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for ESRC funding.

Engage the public with science, technology or facilities: Spark Awards 2023 round one

Apply for funds to engage the public with STFC science, technology or facilities.

We’d particularly like to fund projects that engage:

  • eight to 14-year-olds, and their families, in socioeconomically deprived areas
  • groups considered to have low science capital

The project cost can be up to £15,000 (non-full economic cost).

Projects can be up to 36 months.

Sustainable bio-based materials and manufacture: CR&D

UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £12 million for collaborative research and development (CR&D). This is to develop step-change improvements to sustainable biomanufacturing in the UK.

Collaborative community research to tackle health inequalities

Apply for funding to create and test collaborative models for the integration of cultural, community and natural environment assets into health and care systems. The aim is to create healthier communities and environments across the UK.

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for UK Research and Innovation funding.

Semiconductor industry skills and training

UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £5 million for initiatives to address shortages across the semiconductor industry for innovative skills, talent, and training projects.

Strategic productivity for business functions and leadership teams

Apply for funding to better understand strategic approaches adopted by organisations to improve productivity and develop the evidence base to support the conversation around productivity with business leaders.

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for ESRC funding.

EPSRC-WES ambassadors for women in engineering

Apply to join a cohort of EPSRC-WES ambassadors for women in engineering.

EPSRC wants to fund up to 15 WES memberships to raise awareness of gender issues and intersectionality in engineering and support engineering researchers to become equality, diversity and inclusion advocates in their networks.
