Research England Council member
Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon MBE is a member of Research England’s Council.
Anne-Marie is CEO and Creator of non-profit Stemettes, a trustee at the Institute for the Future of Work and host of the hugely popular Evening Standard’s Women Tech Charge podcast. A former child prodigy who passed two GCSEs in primary school and an A-level in Computing aged 11, she was just 20 years old when she received her Masters Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Oxford. She is the President of the British Science Association and featured as the Temporary Arithmetician on Channel 4’s Countdown during Rachel Riley’s Maternity Leave.
Anne-Marie is an Honorary Fellow at Keble College, Oxford, a Visiting Professor at Sunderland University, a Council Member at the Royal College of Art and sits on the External Advisory Board for Durham University’s Computer Science Department.
Her work at Stemettes spans a decade of frontline work to inspire and support young women and young non-binary people into the STEM fields, reaching more than 60,000. As a trusted thought leader in the technology world, she regularly keynotes and speaks on topics like the future of work, diversity, equity and inclusion and Artificial Intelligence. In 2017, she was awarded an MBE for her work as a renowned champion and inspiration for women looking to find a role in the world of STEM. In 2022 she released her book She’s in CTRL.
She has forged an enviable CV, including positions at Goldman Sachs, Hewlett-Packard and Deutsche Bank. She regularly appears in international media and featured on the 2019 Royal Institute Christmas Lectures.
