Details

The KEF is published annually to allow universities to better understand and improve their own performance in knowledge exchange.

This report sets out how KEF3 was implemented. It details our decisions on its design and highlights any changes from the second iteration.

Detailed descriptions of the source data for each metric (for example, the Higher Education Business and Community Interaction table references) are also presented in a separate file to download.

Cluster placements have been updated for KEF5 to reflect institutional mergers since the last KEF exercise. Where applicable, merged universities have been reassigned based on the combined data of their constituent parts. Cluster placements are presented in a separate file to download.
