The public dialogue, run by an independent research agency, was held in Birmingham in 2025 with 16 participants who had taken part in an earlier NERC dialogue.

Participants discussed the three priorities within NERC’s Forward Look planning framework to shape environmental science over 10 years:

• green growth
• environmental security
• responsible Innovation
