UKRI invest in a significant portfolio of research and innovation to deliver a prosperous, resilient and equitable net zero transition.
We spend more than £800 million per year to deliver a thriving research and innovation ecosystem that is critical to support the UK’s net zero ambitions. We work in partnership with other organisations to invest in and convene the research and innovation community to solve the most pressing challenges of our time and drive forward advances in green technologies and solutions.
The ‘Building a Green Future: UKRI portfolio review 2024’ provides an overview of the funding in key sector areas and case studies to illustrate the impact of our funding.
