Overview

Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs) offer high-quality and coherent postgraduate training covering the full range of the social sciences, as well as areas of interdisciplinary research.

From 2017 to 2023, new studentship funding has been available through 14 DTPs comprised of 73 research organisations and two Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs).

New Doctoral Training Partnerships 2024

From October 2024, studentship funding will be available through 15 DTPs that include 89 research organisations across the UK.

This follows the competitive funding opportunity that was launched in 2022 and was informed by our comprehensive review of the PhD in the social sciences.
